Change is in the air! I heartily welcome readers to the maiden issue of the journal by the new editorial board. I wish to congratulate Professor O. Baiyewu, the former Editor-in-Chief and his team for
maintaining the high standards of the journal. The new team will continue to strive for high ideals and upliftment of the quality. We bring on board integrity, experience, commitment, dedication and
collective responsibility. We know how important academic publications are as indicators of productivity for promotion and international recognition. We promise not to disappoint our
contributors and readers in terms of quality, standards and regularity of production. We will work on the turn-around time without compromising scientific excellence.
The new trend is for open access journals for better visibility and faster processing of manuscripts. African Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences has joined this train of progress and we would like
our contributors and would-be reviewers to register on the website www.ibadanjournalsonline.com.
Each issue of the journal will feature review articles on current or contemporary issues, original papers and case reports. Letters to the Editor are also encouraged on either interesting or contentious issues raised in any of the manuscripts published in our journal. This implies critical reviews of materials published and helps to bring out the science in our writings.
